Socialising on the Nature Path
On the path today, a Barbour wearing couple walking one way and a dog walking woman the other, stopped, called out hellos, and converged, until the wife cried, “Social distance!” And immediately all three spread out as if they were doing like a water ballet, but then they got in the way of a cyclist, and then one had to shift to avoid my perimeter, which meant they all had to shift, and so on, until they finally ended up spaced out alongside the trail edge, as if they were clearing litter. I am not sure why the couple distanced themselves from one another. Perhaps it was to be polite and not make the third person feel like the sole virus carrier.
